Drake’s Future-assisted joint project “What A Time To Be Alive” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The project, released on Sept. 20, sold 375,000 albums in its first week, according to Nielsen Music.
Drizzy was on the fire in this project unleashing much aggression on rap rivals, namely Meek Mill. What better way to get in a zone than using Chiraq lingo?
The Toronto rapper incorporated several terms/phrases coined in Chicago in WATTBA.
In song “I’m The Plug,” Drizzy raps, “This that OVO Halloween gang, you know how I’m rocking already.”
The phrase “you know how I’m rocking” is a popular amongst many Chicago artists, namely Tadoe. It’s also Chief Keef Stan Lil Bugg’s favorite.
In “Change Locations,” Drake raps, “F**k all the opps and the shots that they send.”
Drake is a self-professed fan of the Chicago drill scene and has often linked with its artists
Drake recently reached out 600Breezy and met up with him during Atlanta’s Music Midtown Festival.
Drizzy gave Fredo Santana a cameo role in “We’re Going Home” official music video.
The “Nothing Was The Same” rapper told Hot 97’s Angie Martinez he is a fan of Lil Reese, Lil Bibby and Lil Herb.
“I’ve been really inspired by just some real gutter, hood music,” Drake said. “Just listening to Lil Reese ‘Savage’ mixtape.”
Lil Bibby last linked up with Drizzy in Atlanta in November 2013 during the “Worst Behavior” rapper’s “Would You Like A Tour” scheduled performance.

In September 2013, Drake gave the Chicago rapper perhaps the biggest endorsement of his career.
Drake anticipated Bibby’s now released “Free Crack” mixtape and even referred to the “Kill Shit” rapper and protégé Lil Herb as the “future.”
According to a DM message, Drake wrote, “Streets need that TAPE! I’m waiting on it, You and Herb the future.”
Bibby posted a screenshot of the message, writing, “#FreeCrack If Drake said it then it must be true. #TheFuture”
Drizzy even filmed himself rapping Herb and Bibby’s “Kill S**t.”
Drake is also a big fan of Chief Keef.
Drizzy took to Twitter say Loves Sosa.
“Love Sosa has at least 130 plays in the last 3 days,” he wrote.
Drake is a fan of Sosa’s “Faneto.”
Drake was at the United Center in Chicago for his Jungle Tour. Drake turned his crowd up after performing Chief Keef’s popular “Faneto” record.
The Toronto rapper was also filmed inside the club turning up to the Sosa record. He recited the lyrics word for word.
Drake and Kanye performed Chief Keef’s “I Don’t Like” during their NBA All-Star Weekend concert in Irving Plaza.
Drake and Sosa hinted a GLOVO partnership in January.
Drake paid homage to King Louie and Spenzo during his Drake vs. Lil Wayne Tour at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater in Tinley Park.
Drake sung King Louie’s “Live and Die In Chicago” and Spenzo’s “Wife Er” during his performance.
King Louie hinted he would be collaborating on new music with Drake. This came following a concert performance by up and coming Toronto rapper Sha Hustle.
Louie posted a photo of himself with the “0 To 100” rapper to IG with a caption, reading, “#MuBu #OVO #JusWaitOnIt.”
Louie later revealed on IG that Drake is a fan of his latest mixtape release “Tony.” He further stated Drake said “Til I Meet Selena” was his favorite song.
“Drake told me #TONY go CRAZY he say #til_i_meet_selena his sh-t …..#iCantMakeDisUp #MuBu #OVO #JusWaitOnIt ##GodIsGood,” Louie wrote on IG.
