A Chicago man was utilizing Facebook’s new live video feature when he was shot during a drive-by shooting in the City’s West Englewood neighborhood. The 31-year-old victim is now in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
The man, who remains unidentified, can be seen in the video smiling in front of a corner store.
“On Chief, they heard I was up here, so they had to open the store back up for the kid,” he said. “I can’t be out here without the store being open. I need somewhere to duck and hide for cover.”
The man drops his phone as gunshots rang out. Another gunman can be seen firing back at the vehicle. The phone eerily captures a stop sign, the moving clouds and the wailing of a woman’s voice in the background.
The shooting was one of nine incidents across the City on Thursday that left at least two people dead.
