Fetty Wap was arrested for drunk driving on a suspended license after drug racing in New York City early Friday.
The NYPD nabbed Fetty Wap – real name Willie Maxwell – after seeing the rapper in a black Mercedes CLS AMG speeding on the Gowanus Expressway near Hamilton Avenue in Brooklyn at about 1 a.m., according to NorthJersey.com
Fetty, 26, was racing a 2008 blue Chevy Impala driven by 29-year-old Zane Richards of Woodland, NJ, ABC 7 New York reports.
Fetty and Zane were reportedly driving more than 100 miles per hour in a 50 mph zone, making a series of lane changes without signaling and tailgating other cars while racing, and racing through an active constructive zone.
Fetty Wap provided police a suspended New Jersey license when he was stopped. He was also proven to be intoxicated after failing a field sobriety test when he blew a .09.
The “Trap Queen” rapper faces 15 charges from the arrest, including reckless endangerment, illegal speed contest, operating a motor vehicle with .08, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, motor vehicle license violation, unsafe lane change, following too close, illegal signal, driving while alcohol impaired, and four counts of a speed violation.
