Harold “Noonie G” is teaching readers hustlenomics 101 in new book “Gangstanomics.”
According to All Hip Hop, the former high-ranking member of the Gangster Disciples explores the parallels between the streets and corporate world.
Hip Hop Moguls Sean “Diddy” Combs and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson also contributed to the book. Fif wrote the foreword and Diddy wrote the afterward.
Ward asks readers to have an “open mind” about his past when reading his book.
“I’m not glorifying anything that I’ve done nor suggesting that anyone follows in my footsteps,” he wrote. “The facts are based on what I did at that time, what I’m doing now and what the future holds. Once y’all read this book I hope you can learn from my mistakes and please do your America part to save our kids. Thank y’all in advance.”
Noonie has long been a critic of government’s handling of the crisis in Chicago. He slammed Senator Mark Kirk’s proposal to spend $30 million to arrest and jail 18,000 Gangster Disciples:
“Let’s keep this real, violence doesn’t just stem from just gangs. Violence is a product of frustration, lack of educational resources, unemployment, financial instability, and most of all fear.
Aren’t there more productive ways to spend $30 million? With a reported 2.7 million Chicago children parentless due to incarceration, how could a blind street sweep targeting one gang benefit the community? Mass incarceration contributes to the destruction of Black and Brown communities instead of building them up.
“Where is the call for legislation to implement jobs for youth, build youth centers, facilitate after school programs and create and stimulate income for the parents of these youth? Where is the real concern to analyze the real conditions that have created an environment where over 40 people can be shot in one weekend and the senseless killing of babies and kids is a daily occurrence?”
