There is a reason why Fredo has “Santana” after his name. The Savage Squad boss revealed he was inspired by Juelz Santana and the Dip Set crew back in 2004.
Fredo posted a photo of himself from his early teen years wearing a Juelz-type bandana.
“Real TBT 2004 when I thought I was @thejuelzsantana Dipset b-tch,” the caption on his post read.
Fredo and a couple of his guys even named their block Dipset as revealed in “Young Fredo In The Hood.” This video shows the “Walking Legend” rapper in the hood as teenager.
Fredo would eventually meet his idol and collab on new music. The two artists released song “This Rollie On My Wrist” in 2012.
