Rumors of Jay-Z’s alleged affiliation to the so-called “Illuminati” has dogged the rapper for years.
It is not entirely certain whether Hov is a member of the secret society, but the Brooklyn native may be a member of another organization.
In song “Heaven,” Jay-Z hinted at a possible affiliation with the Five-Percent Nation, an organization commonly referred to as the “Nation of Gods and Earths.”
The Five-Percent Nation was founded in 1964 by Clarence 13X, a former member of the Nation of Islam, according to NPR.com.
The organization represents a percentage of the world’s population who purport to be “enlightened.”
In “Heaven,” Jay-Z raps, “Arm, leg, leg, arm, head/ This is God body.”
The initials of “Arm, leg, leg, arm, head” spell Allah, which 5-Percenters believe is the appropriate name for God.
Jay’s next lines references four of the 12 principles of the 5-Percent nation, rapping, “Knowledge, wisdom, freedom, understanding.”
The Five-Percent believe that the black man is God, which sheds light on why Jay-Z regards himself as divine as he raps, “I confess, God in the flesh.”
Five-Percenters believe the world’s elite controls 85 percent of the population. Jay-Z raps religion is used to control and divide the masses.
Jay-Z’s requests listeners to question their religion, rapping, “Question religion/Question it all/Question existence until them answers are solved.”
He then informs critics his views are secular and traditional religion creates division as he raps, “Y’all religion creates division.”
