Yesterday, the world lost a music icon. The Artist Formerly Known As Prince died at Paisley Park home in Minnesota early Thursday morning. He was 57.
Lil Durk took to Twitter to pay his respects.
“Rest in peace prince damnn a legend,” he wrote.
Prince was battling an illness for the past few weeks.
Prince, born Prince Rogers Nelson, made an emergency landing in his private jet following a concert in Atlanta last Friday and was rushed to the hospital after he fell ill.
Prince is undeniably a music icon having sold over 100 million records worldwide. Prince released arguably his best album “Purple Rain” in 1984. It was his first number one album on the Billboard 200. Prince, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, was won seven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe and an Academy Award.
