Lil Durk is putting to end rumors his tour bus was shot up in Philadelphia. Lil Durk was slated to perform in the City of Brotherly Love Friday, but it was ultimately cancelled after a fatal shooting occurred outside The Theatre of The Living Arts.
Durk posted a clip onto IG of Vine star Nicholas Fraser’s parody of Next’s club hit, “Too Close.” Fraser’s parody “Why You Always Lying” has over 30 million loops on Vine.
The caption on Durk’s post read, “They said tour bus got shot up and one of us got shot we all good we on the way to next city Pittsburgh we on the way…So all the blogs answer this lol.”
Durk took to IG video to announce his concert’s cancellation.
“Aye, police shut the s**t down,” Durk said. “We was on our way. We had somewhere to turn up, we a come, man.”
The shooting occurred outside the TLA concert hall at 330 South Street around 8:20 p.m. Durk had a concert scheduled at 7 p.m., according to Philadelphia Inquirer.
A man wearing a black t-shirt with “OTF” on the front allegedly fired three shots at his victim before fleeing the scene in a white limousine, Fox 29 Philadelphia reports.
This victim, who had a gunshot wound to his abdomen, was taken to Hahnemann Hospital where he died of his injuries, according to the Philly Voice.
Officers caught up with the suspect a few blocks away along Christopher Columbus Boulevard, according to the Inquirer. A handgun was recovered and three men were taken into custody for questioning by homicide detectives.
