Lil Durk is aiming to change the lyrical content of his music. Durk sat down with WGN News to discuss how he is becoming more responsible with the music he is releasing to fans.
“In the past I say ‘was’ cause that was happening back then,” Durk said. “The era of time, everybody wanted the drill music. …I just want it to be real. Just coming form where we come from — the South Side Chicago – the struggle that we lived. I just wanna talk about it and paint that picture of the Chicago they never see.
“When we was talking about what we talking about in the past, we didn’t really care,” he continued. “We didn’t really understand what we was doing to the community. See now I know when I rap I’m like ‘Nah, I can’t do this.’”
