Chicago has a competitive pool of talent. It’s only a matter of time before these MCs infiltrate the industry by the boatload.
Lil Herb is one such Windy City rapper who is generating a considerable amount of buzz on the underground circuit. His debut mixtape “Welcome To Fazoland” solidified himself as an artist to look out for.
According to The Source, Herb credits several industry rappers as his favorites, including, Jadakiss, Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne, Juelz Santana, Jay-Z and Scarface.
But Herb also respects his Chi Town rap counterparts.
Ace Almighty caught up with Lil Herb and got the NLMB rapper to spill the beans on his favorite rappers coming out of the Chi.
“Bibby, Reese, Durk, Louie,” Herb said before pausing to think of more talent.
“…I used to listen to L’A… R.I.P. L’A my homie,” he continued. “[BossTop] and Rondo. Them the only people I listen to from Chicago.”
But Herb soon admitted he doesn’t listen to much music from other artists, even his own.
“…I don’t really listen to Chicago artists,” he said. “I don’t really listen to music. I barely listen to my own s**t.”
“I just be too busy doing all type of sh*t,” he added.
