Lil Herb was a talented basketball player prior to flexing his talents in the studio. G Herbo regarded basketball as his “first love” during his sit-down Shade 45 radio interview with Jazzie Belle TV and DJ Kayslay. But the NLMB rapper eventually got kicked off of his basketball team. Herb attributed this to being “in and out the streets” and “f*****g around.”
“My coach was on some sh*t,” he said. “…He knew what I was on.”
“I was on some wild sh*t gang banging and getting in trouble in school, just fighting and crazy sh*t,” Herb said. “…Just all type of wild sh*t.”
Herb said him getting kicked off of the team only made him bang harder. But he does acknowledge it was a “learning experience.”
“…When you doing something, you gotta focus at that,” Herb said. “You can’t let other sh*t side track you. It was a note to me saying ain’t no chances. If you f**k up with life, you don’t get second chances. My whole basketball career was over with cause I decisions I made. It was a learning experience.”
