Lil Jay is currently in Cook County jail awaiting trial for the murder. Jay told his manager Rockstar Harry J and fans his next court hearing is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 4.
Jay told to fans he suffered a personal setback after his mother was arrested and jailed for intimidating a witness whom he revealed to FBG Butta.
“Free my OG. My mama got caught up in this case s**t,” Lil Jay said. “My mama just went down for some time for intimidating a witness, and y’all know who the witness it – Butta, 26. He put a case on my mama and some more s**t.”
Clout Lord told Harry J and fans that his friend FBG Butta, born Rakeem Wilton, is set to testify against him in their murder trial. Butta is being held on $250,000 bond in Cook County.
Butta appeared In Jay’s “Take You Out Your Glory” music video.
“N****s ain’t right through this b***h,” Lil Jay said. “N****s out here is really telling. Like the little n***a Butta, man. The n***a gon testify against me at trial. N***a’s a b***h. N****’s ain’t 100 no more. N****s ain’t 100 like they used to be. N****s y’all think y’all friends, they ain’t y’all friends. They lowkey jealous, and they envy y’all.”
Lil Jay and Butta were both charged with murder for the shooting death of 25-year-old Filmon N. Rezene.
Rezene appeared in Jay’s “Faneto (GMix)” music video.
Lil Jay and Butta were arrested alongside Roshinda Young, Monique Lane-Calhoun and Brittany Dupree.
Rezene was shot in self-defense following an argument with a then-22-year-old man in Calumet City. Lil Jay, Rezene and the group allegedly went to purchase marijuana from the 22-year-old man, but an argument ultimately erupted. The group left and returned with a firearm provided by Rezene’s girlfriend Young.
The 22-year-old was shot four times but was also armed and fired back at Rezene, who was struck “several” times, prosecutors told the Sun-Times.
Lil Jay, Young, Lane-Calhoun and Butta were arrested at the scene after police spoke with the 22-year-old victim and witnesses. Police later arrested Dupree after spotting her leaving Lil Jay’s apartment with a bag of handguns, including two used in the shooting.
Rezene died May 15 from his injuries in Stroger Hospital.
