Chiraq Hip Hop is increasingly becoming a staple on the music scene. Chicago artists bring to the Hip Hop scene vivid lyrical accounts that detail the harsh realities of extreme poverty and violence in a city now known as Chiraq.
Lil Jay gave insight on his artistry during an interview with the McGraw report.
“Most of it is real life,” he said. “Some of it is an art form to make it look all good, but most of it is real life. Most of the stuff we rap about or say in our songs, we really go through it. That’s why a lot of people really do look up to us.”
Lil Jay cited his single “Why” as one of his more personal songs
“That song right there came from the heart,” he said.
Lil Jay is prepping the release of his upcoming mixtape “Clout Lord.” The project is slated to drop soon.
