Lil Reese is fuming mad after news surfaced of Tyshawn Lee’s mother, Karla Lee, allegedly using money from GoFundMe donations to purchase a brand new 2015 Chrysler 200.
The “Supa Savage 2” rapper directed a fiery message to the woman on Twitter.
“TyshawnLee momma is a stupid whoreeee Tom bout car b***h I can buy you a car,” he wrote.
On Nov. 6, Reese took to Twitter to offer his prayers for Tyshawn.
Ms. Lee posted a video defending herself against criticism onto social media.
“I am so tired of yall social media and yall Facebook people bashing me. Yall don’t even know me,” she said. “I was the best mother I was to my son. Somebody leak a video of my buying a car… If a motherf****r telling you they gone take yo life too because of whatever the f**k is going on… they already took my son. I walk to work. I get on the bus. I ain’t tryna be a target for nobody. …I got this sh*t for my protection and yall bashing me. I’m pretty sure that’s something my son would’ve wanted me to do. …Why don’t yall just leave me alone.”
More than $17,000 was raised in four days through the donation website.
Ms. Lee told ABC 7 Chicago she didn’t buy the car from donations she received. She says $13,000 remains in the account after she paid for some funeral expenses and GoFundMe took its percentage fee.
Tyshawn was fatally shot the afternoon of Monday, Nov. 2 just doors from his grandmother’s house in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood.
Tyshawn, a student at Scott Joplin Elementary School, was reportedly in an alley with “an unknown number of individuals” about 4:15 p.m. when an argument erupts, someone fired shots and everyone scattered, Chief of Detectives Dean Andrews told the Tribune. Andrews said it’s unclear whether Tyshawn’s shooting death was intentional or a “tragic case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time.”
The boy was shot several times in the upper body, including the head and back, ABC 7 Chicago reports. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Tyshawn’s grandmother, Bertha Lee, found his body lying in a pool of blood with his basketball next to him.
Fr. Michael Pfleger, of St. Sabina Church, and community activist Andrew Holmes have raised over $54,000 for information leading to the capture of the person or persons responsible for the killing of Tyshawn.
“When an 8-year-old is gunned down multiple times in an alley, it sounds like an execution-style killing,” Pfleger told the Chicago Sun Times. “But what kind of creature are you, that you could shoot an 8-year-old multiple times?”
