Mannie Fresh Mourns Loss Of Mr. Magic



Producer Mannie Fresh joins a throng of Hip Hop entertainers who expressed their deepest condolences in the tragic death New Orleans rapper Mr. Magic.

The “Like A Boss” artist took to Instagram to offer his deepest sympathy to family of Mr. Magic.

“R.I.P. MR MAGIC Please keep his family, friends in ur prayers #GreatDude #9thWard,” he wrote.



The New Orleans Hip Hop community is reeling from the loss of one its sons Mr. Magic. Mr. Magic, born Awood Johnson, and wife Chastity succumbed to injuries in a car accident on Friday, March 1 in Hattiesburg, Miss. The couple’s daughter Twila Wise Johnson was the lone survivor.

Mr. Magic released three albums under No Limit Records, including “Sky’s the Limit, Thuggin’ and “White Eyes.” “Sky’s the Limit,” hit No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and No. 3 on the hip-hop/R&B albums chart.

His last solo album “On My Own,” was released under Koch Records in 2003.

Mr. Magic also joined with Roy Jones, Jr. and Choppa to form Body Head Bangerz. The group released their debut album “Bangerz: Volume One” in 2004.
