It is no secret that Michael Jordan, who is perhaps the world’s most prolific basketball player, is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
But questions may arise on whether the six-time NBA champion, who was initiated via the Omicron Alpha chapter in Wilmington, NC, was honorary or “made.”
A photo has surfaced showing that “His Airness” did indeed pledge.
The image shows Jordan and pledge brother wearing dog collars.
Jordan is a proud member of the purple and gold fraternity and has been seen publicly throwing up the fraternity’s signature “hooks.”
Omega Psi Fraternity, Inc. is the first black fraternity found at a historically black college university. Founded on Nov. 17, 1911, the fraternity is dedicated to its Cardinal Principles of manhood, scholarship, perseverance and uplift. The fraternity’s members include civil rights activist Rev. Jesse Jackson, comedian and philanthropist Bill Cosby and radio host Steve Harvey, to name a few.
