The R&B and Hip Hop community is paying close attention to news of a potential nuclear war looming between the U.S. and North Korea.
North Korea made threats to strike the Western super power in coming days. The small country’s army has been “cleared” to wage ware on the U.S. with nuclear weapons, Fox News reports.
R&B singer Frank Ocean recently weighed in on the impending crisis.
“did north korea just threaten to nuke us? Whoa,” the “Pyramids” singer wrote.
The Pentagon isn’t taking North Korea leader Kim Jong Un’s threats lightly. An advanced military defense systems has been deployed to Guam in the western Pacific, according to the Guardian.
The conflict reportedly stems from U.S. and South Korean military exercises taking place in South Korea. North Korea alleged the military exercises were in preparation for an invasion.
The heightened threats come following a visit from former NBA superstar Dennis Rodman in March.
Rodman appeared in an interview on ABC’s “This Week” to discuss his trip, saying, Kim “loves basketball.”
Kim, he said, simply wants Obama to call him.
Kim allegedly told the five-time NBA Champion, “I don’t want to do war. I don’t want to do war.”
