Little do many people know, the Reverend Al Sharpton is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma.
The civil rights activist was voted to become an honorary member of the historically black fraternity during their National Conclave in New Orleans, LA in 2009.
Sharpton joined the fraternity alongside President Bill Clinton and Stevie Wonder.
Sharpton has done work with the fraternity in the past.
Al Sharpton and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. are teamed up to launch a national anti-hazing campaign.
The coalition came in response to the hazing death of Florida A&M Marching 100 band member Robert Champion.
Phi Beta Sigma president Jimmy Hammock told the AP deaths due to hazing could no longer be treated as isolated or unrelated incidents.
