Rick Ross Responds To Rape Lawsuit

Rick Ross is being sued for his alleged role in a sexual assault that occurred in February. Ross was named in a lawsuit that claim his bodyguard drugged and raped a woman, according to New York Daily News.

“It has been brought to my attention that serious allegations have been made against an independent contractor, who’s services I use often,” Ross said in a statement issued to TMZ. “And while I am not directly involved or implicated, as a man and a father, I take this very seriously. I don’t believe any woman’s safety should be compromised and she should never be forced to do anything outside of her will, regardless of the circumstances. While I personally have no knowledge of the specifics surrounding these allegations, it is my hope that this is rectified quickly and with sensitivity.”

Nadrian James, 42, is accused of violating the unnamed victim who was under the influence of a “drink-and-drug cocktail, according to the Daily Beast.

“It was at least [James] and maybe others—we haven’t tested everything yet,” the alleged victim’s attorney, Okorie Okorocha, told The Daily Beast, referring to the dress and underwear that’s now been tagged as evidence.

The victim, identified as Jane Doe, said in court documents obtained by the NY Daily News she met James at a W Hotel in LA on Feb. 7 and accepted an invitation to ride with him and Ross in a private van to a marijuana convention called Cannabis Cup in San Bernardino. She said was offered a drink that was possibly drugged during the ride. She allegedly blacked out for the rest of the ride and was taken to James’ hotel room while “completely disoriented.”

She regained consciousness the next morning in James’ hotel room and noticed her clothes were out of place and found evidence she had been raped and sodomized.

The woman says her clothes “contain DNA evidence of the rape.”

Ross’ label Maybach and parent label Warner Music Group have also been named in the lawsuit for reportedly “fostering an environment in which drugs and rape were not only tolerated and condoned but also encouraged.”
