Soulja Boy can breathe a huge sigh of relief after he reached a plea deal in his assault weapons case, TMZ reports.
Last December, Soulja was hit with felony weapons violations stemming from a police search of his Hollywood Hills home last where an assault weapon and stolen police handgun was found, according to The Associated Press.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office charged Soulja with two felony weapons possession charges and a misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property. Soulja faced four years in prison.
In Soulja’s plea deal, he was given 5 years probation and 240 days of community labor. He’s reportedly not allowed to threaten anyone or possess any deadly weapons, not even replica or toy gun.
Luckily, Soulja will still be allowed tour outside of the country.
Soulja Boy was arrested the morning of Thursday, Dec. 15 for felony possession of an assault weapon in Los Angeles after someone snitched on him for threatening people online, TMZ reports. Police reportedly visited Soulja Boy’s Hollywood Hills home on a Crime Stoppers tip and found the rapper in possession of a firearm.
Police reportedly found a Mini Draco AR-IS assault weapon and a Glock 21 handgun. The latter weapon was reported stolen from Huntington Beach, CA police vehicle.
Soulja posted $35,000 bail shortly after.
Soulja Boy was on probation for being in possession of a loaded gun in 2014. He was sentenced to 24 months summary probation and 170 hours of community service.
