College sports have been rocked with sexual abuse allegations in the past few weeks with the Penn State scandal. The latest case is Bernie Fine, an assistant basketball coach at Syracuse University, who has been accused of molesting by two former ball boys.
Beginning in the late 1970s and continuing into the 1990s, the ball boys Bobby Davis and Mike Lang–now middle aged- told ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” Thursday that Fine had sexually abused them at his home, Syracuse basketball facilities and on road trips, including the 1987 Final Four in New Orleans.
Fine has since been placed on administrative leave by Syracuse University while police investigate allegations.
Sgt. Tom Connellan of the Syracuse Police Department told ABC News his department is in the early stages of an investigation and have no further details.
Syracuse University chancellor Nancy Cantor sent a message to school alumni saying the school will “do everything in our power to find the truth.”
