Taxstone Indicted On Gun Charges, Faces 20 Years In Prison

Taxstone, born Daryl Campbell, has been indicted on weapons charges in connection with the Irving Plaza shooting in May 2016, Bossip reports.

A federal grand jury reportedly indicted Taxstone on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, and receiving a gun through interstate commerce, according to the indictment report obtained by Bossip.

Authorities allege the DNA of the 31-year-old podcast personality was found on the trigger, handgrip and magazine of the 9-millimeter Kel-Tec semiautomatic handgun that was used in the Irving Plaza concert shooting, the New York Times reports.

Taxstone, a felon, isn’t allowed to possess a gun after pleading guilty in 2008 to attempted robbery. Taxstone is accused of illegally possessing a 9-milimeter Kel-Tec semiautomatic handgun – the same gun used in the Irving Plaza shooting.

Taxstone was arrested at his aunt’s Brooklyn home in January before he was taken to the 13th Precinct stationhouse in Gramercy Park.

Troy Ave, whose birth name is Roland Collins, was indicted in Manhattan Supreme Court on one charge of second-degree attempted murder, and four counts of weapons possession in the May 25 shooting.

Troy spoke on the incident that occurred that fateful night in his “Free Troy Ave” mixtape, saying his actions were self-defense.

Troy Ave speaks on the shooting in songs “Intro (Troy Ave Speaks/Freestyle),” “Intermission (Troy Ave Speaks),” and “Outro (Troy Ave Speaks).”

“P---- n***a tried to assassinate me/I took the gun from him and turned the tables round like a G,” Troy raps.

Troy Ave’s friend and bodyguard Ronald McPhatter was killed during the incident. McPhatter is reportedly shown in surveillance footage entering the green room behind Troy Ave, and then running past him as shots were fired.

He was shot in the stomach, fell downstairs and collapsed near a bar. He later died at Mount Sinai Israel Hospital.

Ms. McPhatter is upset with Troy for not notifying her of her son’s death.

Other victims in the incident included 26-year-old Maggie Heckstall, who was shot in the leg, and Christopher Vinson, 34, who was struck in the abdomen after a bullet went through the floor.
