The Game Defends Kendrick Lamar, Disses Shyne

Rapper The Game came to fellow Compton native Kendrick Lamar’s defense after Shyne called the Hip-Hop newcomer’s major label debut studio album “good kid, m.A.A.d city” trash.

Though the album has earned critical acclaim from critics, Shyne is not impressed.

The Game got into a war of words with the Brooklyn emcee on Twitter writing anything spoken about “KDOT” concerns him. Check out the series of tweets sent back and forth between the two emcees:

RT @OriginalShyne: Listened to the Kendrick Lamar album during lunch and @OriginalShyne was right. TRASH! – Bitch, shut up !!!!

“RT @OriginalShyne: @thegame Wassup son? Why u involving yourself on something don’t concern u? – If its bout KDOT.. It CONCERN ME”

Early Wednesday morning, Shyne took to Twitter to praise the 25-year-old rapper for his talent, but called the Compton native’s album “traaaaash!”

“Yoooo! Kendrick Lamar is talented with a lot of potential but his album is traaaaash!”

Shyne wrote The Game and 50 Cent’s debut albums lived up to their expectations, but Lamar’s album did not.

“The game Documentary even 50 get rich or die trying lived up to the hype and were classics,” he wrote. “Good kid is trash!”

Backlash soon flooded the rapper’s timeline with many calling the “Bad Boy” rapper a “hater.”

“When did honest become hating,” he wrote in response to backlash he received. “I expected doggy style or the chronic. I got a product that was trash.”

A debate ensued on Twitter but Shyne was not budging on his stance.

“I’m inspired by other people’s greatness, it makes me work harder,” Shyne wrote. “I looked forward to hearing an instant classik from good kid. Trash!”

“All kendric lamar d#%^ riders & nut huggers!” he wrote. “His album was trash! Good kid! Terrible album!”

This isn’t the first time Shyne has received backlash for his views. The rapper raised eyebrows after saying he would endorse Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

Does Shyne have a point about Kendrick Lamar’s album? Is it really overrated? Sound off below.
