Troy Ave might’ve as well change his name to Troy Super. The Brooklyn rapper caught two bullets to his head and arm while sitting in his red Maserati on Christmas Day.
Troy posted footage of himself leaving the hospital in bandages onto his IG account.
He wrote in his caption, “shot in my head, shot in my back, GOD is Great Ya boi is back from the bottom of my heart thank y’all 4 all the prayers.”
Troy, whose birth name is Roland Collins, was caught off guard when a shooter walked up to his driver-side window and let off several shots.
Troy was grazed in the head and struck once in the arm in a shooting that occurred in Canarsie at East 91st Street and Linden Blvd around 4:20 p.m., according to the New York Daily News.
Troy drove his vehicle off the road before leaving his car at the crime scene and managing to get himself to Brookdale hospital.
“He is very sore,” Troy’s attorney John Stella told The New York Daily News. “The doctors told the family that he came dangerously close to having a spinal cord injury — but it looks like there’s no lasting damage from the wound track.”
Troy is currently accused of attempted murder for shooting into a crowd at Irving Plaza on May 25. He can be seen in surveillance footage firing a gun in the shooting left his friend Ronald McPhatter dead. Troy also accidentally shot himself during the melee.
Troy Ave was indicted in Manhattan Supreme Court on one charge of second-degree attempted murder, and four counts of weapons possession.
