Never shy to spark controversy, Tyler The Creator made fun of a sensitive topic in the “racial” department.

The “Tree Home” rapper took to Instagram to hold up a large piece of fried chicken with a caption that read, “NIGGAS!”



There is an interesting history behind fried chicken. Fried chicken was initially a Scottish dish. During slavery, chicken was a premium meal for African Americans given their scarce resources.

African Americans were essentially fed scraps during this harsh period, including pig intestines (chitlins). But with their superb cooking skills, African Americans were able to transform this into a delicacy.

This was also applied to chicken. The Scottish fried chicken had a bland taste. Africans were able to add seasoning to the chicken for it to be bursting with flavor.

African house servants also served this dish at the dinner table to their owner’s delight.

In today’s generation, fried chicken has now become America’s dish. Several restaurants have even made billions off this “seasoned” fried chicken.

Honestly, doesn’t sound like “niggas” created something like that.
