Many South Side Chicago residents are reeling from the tragic death of Capo. The Glo Gang rapper was shot and killed Saturday, July 11 during a possible drive-by shooting. Shocking footage surfaced on the net showing the “G.L.O.N.L. 2” rapper taking his last breaths before being taken to Northwestern Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Arthur Yancy, a friend of Capo and building manager of an apartment complex where he died, found the “G.L.O.N.L. 2” rapper bleeding on the sidewalk after hearing gunshots.
“It’s just unbelievable, there are really no words for that,” Yancy told DNAinfo.com. “It’s so hurtful to see such a young life taken away right in front of you… It’s the kind of thing you hear about on the news sometimes, but when it happens right where you live, it hits home.”
Yancy said Capo lived in the South Shore neighborhood and was well-respected, especially for his music.
“He was a great man, and an aspiring artist. … People around here are sort of like a big family, and I think what happened just hit us all hard,” Yancy reportedly said. “To strike a man down in broad daylight like that…I just don’t know what could be on [the shooters’] minds. They must have no conscience.”
