King Yella and Young M.A have decided to let bygones be bygones after the Brooklyn rapper caught heat in December for saying Tooka during a freestyle on DJ Cosmic Kev of Philly’s Power 99 radio show.
Yella posted a photo of himself with the “Ooouuu” rapper onto his IG account.
He wrote, “All that bulls**t can be ended wit a simple convo.”
In the Brooklyn artist’s freestyle, she raps, “I smoke Hooka like it’s Tooka, blowing jet clouds/And I only get high to bring the stress down.”
M.A took to IG Live to apologize for the reference.
“My reference was to weed, so for people to take it out of context is crazy,” she said. “No bad intentions behind it. Understand that. But I send my apologies again to Tooka and his family. That’s it. My apologies.”
King Yella accepted Young M.A’s apology soon after.
“I wanna salute Young M.A for the apology,” Yella said. “I apologize for calling you out your name too. Keep doing your thang, baby girl.”
Tooka, born Shondale Gregory, was shot and killed on Jan. 12, 2011 at a bus stop at 63rd and St. Lawrence in the Woodlawn neighborhood in South Side Chicago. He was 15.
