A debate on Paula Deen’s use of the N-word that led to her firing from the Food Network grew fiery after rapper Bun-B defended the network’s decision.
Supporters of Paula Deen slammed the network’s decision and rebuked Hip Hop for its usage of the term without any consequences.
But rapper Bun B took to Twitter to say he won’t stand for Hip Hop being used as a scapegoat for its usage of the N-Word.
“I won’t stand for rap/hip hop being a scapegoat everytime a white person says the N-word. We deal with our criticism.let he deal with hers,” the Houston rapper wrote.
The “Put It Down” rapper commented that the N-word was not created by rappers.
“We know how long ago the N-word was created, by whom and under what conditions. But rappers using it in the last 25+ years are the bad guys?” he wrote.
