Bobby Shmurda caught a lucky break in his prison shank case. The “Hot N*gga” rapper was offered a plea deal during an appearance in court on Tuesday, according to TMZ.

Bobby was offered an opportunity to plead guilty to a reduced charge of “attempted promoting prison contraband.” If Bobby pleads guilty he’ll get one to four years.

If Bobby takes the sentence, it will run concurrently with his conspiracy case.

Bobby is currently serving seven years in prison after pleading guilty in September to charges of 4th-degree conspiracy to criminally possess a weapon and 2nd-degree criminal weapons possession, according to Billboard.

Bobby will also be required to serve five years probation after his term. He could’ve have faced 25 years to life in prison if he was convicted on charges of conspiracy, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon and criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Bobby waived his right to appeal as part of the plea deal.

Bobby will reveal his decision on the plea deal in his upcoming Jan. 7 hearing.

Bobby was upset with his decision to plead guilty in his conspiracy case. He attempted to withdraw his plea during his sentencing hearing.

“I was forced to take this sentence, I did not want to take this sentence,” Bobby told the court, according to Billboard. “I was forced by my attorney to take this plea.”

Bobby told Complex during an interview he took the plea deal to save Rowdy Rebel.

Bobby said he could’ve taken a five-year deal, but declined.

“I did it for Rowdy. They offered me five and offered Rowdy 12,” Bobby told Complex. “They said the only way they’ll give him seven is if I took seven too. So, you know, I had to take one for the dawgs.”

But Billboard reports Bobby was upset in court, saying, “They lied to me.”

Bobby has been in jail since his arrest at Manhattan’s Quad Studios in December 2014.
