Adrien Broner Posts $100K Bail Over Robbery and Assault Charges In Ohio

Adrien Broner took to IG to announce he was turning himself into police on robbery and assault charges in his hometown of Cincinnati on Monday morning.

The caption on Broner’s post read, “Time to turn myself in…… I love all the support you people been giving me #AboutBillions.”

Broner later announced he was granted bail in another IG post.

“They let me out y’all… #AboutBillions #ImGood.”

Broner was released on $100,000 bail, according to court records obtained by ESPN.

Broner is scheduled for his arraignment on Tuesday morning at the Hamilton County Justice Center in Cincinnati, where he will be asked to enter a plea, according to ESPN.

Broner is accused of beating and robbing a man two months ago, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. The Jan. 21 incident reportedly stemmed from gambling dispute outside a Madisonville bowling alley.

The WBA super lightweight champion was charged with felonious assault and aggravated robbery.

Broner made a $6,000 bet with victim Christopher Carson on a bowling game. Broner ended up losing.

According to the lawsuit:

“The men had met two years earlier through mutual friends. That night, it was Carson and a teammate vs. Broner and his teammate.

Before each game Broner requested a side bet with Carson that ranged from $500 to $2,000, which Carson agreed to.

Carson won $8,000 from Broner, who ran out of cash. Broner then continued to bet another $6,000 on credit.

By the end of the night, Carson had won $14,000, the lawsuit says, but Broner wanted to bet another $6,000 on a final game.

Carson didn’t agree to that, the lawsuit says, and Broner “became upset and left the bowling alley.”

Carson left the venue around 3 a.m. only to be confronted by Broner and eight other men, according to the lawsuit.

Broner then allegedly punched Carson, splitting his chin open, and then, gun in hand, continued to threaten him.

Broner then allegedly knocked Carson out with a second punch. Carson later woke and discovered $12,000 he had on him was missing.
