Trippie Redd is a newcomer in the game, but has already notched a few records with Lil Wayne under his belt. Trippie opened up on his relationship with Lil Wayne during an interview with XXL.

“Meeting Wayne, it was meeting Wayne,” Trippie said. “I met Wayne, and we did some s**t. He hopped on two songs. You’ll see them later on. I don’t know when exactly I’ma drop em, I’ma do it. It was fire.”

Trippie said he didn’t approach Weezy as a fan.

“I don’t never get star struck. It was moreso like, ‘Damn, my idol in the same room talking to me,’” Trippie said. “I played it cool. It wasn’t no fan s**t. I’ma artist now. I look at him as you my big brother slash rival. I can’t compete with Wayne, but you know what I mean.”
