The New Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office ruled Terrilynn Monette’s death a drowning, WGNO reports.
No signs of trauma were found on her body, which prompted the ruling. The 26-year-old schoolteacher’s body was confirmed through dental records.
The New Orleans Police Department is treating Monette’s investigation as a traffic fatality, according to WWLTV.
The coroner is now awaiting the results of toxicology tests to determine whether any drugs were in Monette’s system, according to the AP.
Monette was last seen alive on March 2 while with friends at Lakeview bar. A diver
found the vehicle with license plates matching Monette’s in a bayou not far from the location.
