Social media was buzzing with questions on whether legendary R&B group TLC singer T-Boz took a shot at the current queen of Hip Hop Nicki Minaj.
T-Boz, whose real name is Tionne Watkins, had strong criticism for reality singing competition shows saying the shows are no longer about the “talent.”
“The show was supposed to be about people who deserve to be sitting there… Patti Labelle, Aretha Franklin… the list goes on. Bump if they’re out anymore. What have they done? Have they paved the way, open doors for others, do they know this business,” Watkins said. That’s who the hell should be sitting in those chairs.
“They pick people based on ‘how many tweets do they get.’ You’re basing it off who you think the kids want to see. Not based off someone who is talented and can actually judge to pick talent…. Now, they got rappers who don’t even sing judging? This is totally based off popularity. All I can say is get you money honey, but will never watch you shows again.”
The media soon caught wind of the Watkins’ comments. Watkins took Twitter to send a series of tweets defending her comments after many suggested her critiques were aimed at Nicki Minaj.
Do you think T-Boz’s comments were a diss directed at Nicki Minaj? Sound off below.
