The Eta Chi chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. at the University of Alabama has begun a scholarship in honor of Charles Edward “Tre” Jones. Jones, 20, drowned Thursday, April 5 during a riverboat party hosted by Delta Sigma Theta sorority.

Florida A&M’s police chief has resigned amid controversy surrounding the Marching 100 member Robert Champion’s death as a result of hazing.

Hazing charges against 27 Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity members were dropped by Dartmouth College, WMUR 9 reports. Charges came as a result of a former member’s allegations.

Dartmouth College is being investigated for allegations of hazing. A fraternity at the school allegedly had pledges eat and swim in vomit.

Eight members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. have been charged with hazing two Youngstown University students.

Members of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority were charged with theft after stealing statues from a Nativity scene at a public square in Monmouth, the New York Daily News reports. One of the statues taken was baby Jesus.

Florida A&M band member Bria Shante Hunter was beaten in a suspected hazing ritual that left her with a broken thigh, according to the Associated Press.  The beatings, authorities said, took place on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

Sunday, Dec. 4 marks the 105th anniversary of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the first inter-collegiate black Greek fraternity. Henry Arthur Callis, Charles Henry Chapman, Eugene Kinckle Jones, George Biddle Kelley, Nathaniel Allison Murray, Robert Harold Ogle and Vertner Woodson Tandy founded the fraternity at Cornell University on Dec. 4, 1906.
