A Chi Town man hoping to build buzz for his rap career went to extremes in late June.

The Illinois rapper, who goes by the name Big T, took matters into his own hands for anticipated viral stardom by faking his own death.

Big T edited footage captured by Vive Cool to portray himself being murdered in a walk-up shooting late at night.

Big T didn’t operate alone in his plot. Big T’s associate, Deezy, helped spread the word by tweeting a video purporting to show the alleged hit on the aspiring rapper’s life.

Deezy attempted to pin blame of the fake death on FBG and Bricksquad.

Social media began buzzing after news of Big T’s death hit.







Big T later revealed himself to be alive and well.

Twitter user @_OsoArrogantDpg joked Big T was in “hiding.”

Big T replied, “@_OsoArrogantDpg hiding from what you niggas ready thought yall could kill me #LMFAO!”



Big T even posted a video bragging his death was a hoax.

“These motherf*ckers said they killed me,” he said. “It’s confirming I’m still alive. Fuck these bitch ass ni**as. F*ck JoJo. Get at me, nigga. Get at me and stop spreading rumors you goofy ass motherf*ckers. F*ck Lil’ Jay. F*ck they whole motherf*cking squad. Yall ni**as aint on shit. Yall know where the f*ck I be.

“…JoJo rest in piss. Tooka rest in piss,” he said.

Chicago Rapper Big T Explains Death Hoax

Prior to his antics, the emcee went on an all out social media tirade against members of South Side Chicago’s Bricksquad 069, JoJo World, Tookaville 063, Fly Boy Gang and Wugga World 075.

More specifically, the rapper took aim at Chicago rappers Killa Kellz, P. Rico, Lil’ Mister and Lil’ Jay.

In one YouTube video, the rapper disrespected slain Chicago teen Shondale Gregory by urinating on a piece of paper bearing the teen’s nickname.

Gregory, known as “Tooka” by relatives and friends, was a South Side Chicago teenager who was shot and killed on Jan. 12, 2011 while awaiting a bus. Friends formed “Tooka Gang” in his honor.

Big T released a song disparaging the street gangs.
