Chief Keef is currently at home in Chicago enjoying his family and a bit of freedom after spending more than 90 days in drug rehabilitation in California.
But all that can apparently change during a scheduled Feb. 28 court date.
BillBoard reports Sosa will stand before a judge who will determine whether the “Bang 3” rapper’s recovery was successful or not. If it proves to be the latter, Sosa may be headed back to rehab.
Cook County Judge Earl Hoffenberg issued a stern warning to Sosa via attorneys who attended a Dec. 12 court hearing on behalf of the beleaguered rap star.
“I’ve had murderers who haven’t had so much time before this court. It’s getting ridiculous. …I’m very happy he’s doing well, but if he comes back dirty, I’m done. This is it,” Judge Earl Hoffenberg said, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Sosa’s plans to make a March 3 deadline for his sophomore album “Bang 3” all depends on his impending court date, according to BillBoard.
Sosa’s manager Peeda Pan told Hot New Hip Hop that date is not definitive.
“We may be looking to push the date back,” he said.
All of Sosa’s problems stem from a June 2013 speeding ticket.
Northfield Police clocked Sosa driving 110 mph on the Edens Expressway. Keef’s arrest came following a performance in Davenport, Iowa.
Chief Keef plead guilty to the charge and was fined $531, placed on probation for 18 months, ordered to perform 60 hours community service, undergo random drug testing and complete eight hours of traffic school.
In mid-October, a judge ordered Chief Keef to serve 20 days in jail for violating the terms of his probation after testing positive for marijuana, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Sosa was released a few days later for good behavior.
But Keef soon found himself back in jail Nov. 7 after failing yet another drug test. He was subsequently ordered to undergo 90 days of drug treatment.
