DaWeirdo took a brief hiatus, but is now back with his signature brand of music. The uber talented Chicago artist tapped his creative twin A Fly Visual to hook up yet another visual masterpiece for single “Bonfire Children.”
As can be expected from a DaWeirdo/A Fly Visual production, viewers are instantly thrust into a strange world representing the complexity of DaWeirdo’s mind.
DaWierdo is possessed by a darker force in this record saying he “woke up to a demon breathing on his neck.”
DaWeirdo’s deranged mind is even more apparent as he recites a line from Michael Jackson’s iconic record “Smooth Criminal.”
“Annie, are you okay? Annie, are you okay,” he repeats.
Jackson’s song was about a woman who was violently attacked in her apartment by a smooth criminal.
DaWeirdo raps, “This is more than smooth criminal struck by lightning/Mama said jump off the bench, no more crying.”
DaWeirdo reenacts the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. DaWeirdo, draped in the American flag, is fatigued as he carries a cross on the trail to his fate. He is marched along the way by an armed white male wearing overalls and a member of the Klu Klux Klan. Shockingly, the man wearing the KKK outfit is black. We’ll leave it to viewers to offer their input on this interesting clip in the visual.
DaWeirdo’s “Bonfire Children” will take more than a few listens to decode. We’re sure you’ll enjoy the listening experience in this one.
DaWeirdo recently dropped his “Dirty Basterd” EP. The project is available for download via iTunes.
