KAIT anchor Craig Rickert made some interesting claims via his Facebook fan page in a post he made Monday afternoon regarding the shooting death of Chavis Carter.
Carter, 21, was shot in the head while handcuffed in the back of a police cruiser in Jonesboro, AK. Police are alleging Carter had a hidden weapon and shot himself in a suicide attempt.
Rickert wrote Carter “had the gun stuffed very low in his pants.”
“You’d be surprised how flexible people can be,” he wrote. “Trust me, nothing suspicious about this.”
Teresa Carter, Carter’s mother, is not buying the police’s claims of her son shooting himself.
“I think they killed him,” she said in an interview with WREG-TV. “I can’t see how this could happen. My son wasn’t suicidal.”
What are your thoughts Rickert’s claims? Do you think Carter had a gun stuffed “low in his pants?” Sound off below.
