Kevin Gates exited an Illinois state prison Wednesday morning on parole after serving nine months out of a 30-month sentence.
Gates will be on “mandatory supervision,” and “can’t possess any firearms,” TMZ reports.
Gates took to IG post his first message since his release. His message reads, “I’m Him.”
Gates was sentenced to East Moline Correctional Center on a felony gun charge in April.
Gates’ projected discharge date was scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019.
Gates’ gun case dates back to 2013. A warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to appear in court.
Gates was extradited to Chicago in April 2017 to face his gun charge upon the completion of his 180-day sentence from a Florida jail. Gates was jailed for kicking a female fan in the chest.
