Kodak Black has one less legal woe to worry about after he reached a settlement with Dollaz and Dealz Entertainment, Bossip reports. Kodak signed with the Florida label at age 16 in 2013.
The Pompano Beach native reportedly sued the label in December 2016 for breach of contract. Kodak’s move to Atlantic Records in 2015 complicated his relationship with his former label.
Kodak felt the label was in the business of janky promotion because management never paid him regularly or offered accounting of his finances. To make matters worse, the label’s CEO, AC Julien, is incarcerated on unrelated charges.
Kodak also claimed the contract he signed should be voided because Dollaz N Dealz doesn’t have the talent agency license required by Florida law.
Kodak and Dollaz N Deals have reportedly settled their case out of court. A judge agreed and threw the case out of court. Kodak won’t be able to sue the label again because the case was dismissed with prejudice.
