It was recently revealed that Lil Reese’s song “Beef” featuring Lil Durk and Fredo Santana was streamed prior to the altercation that led to black Florida teen Jordan Davis’ Nov. 23, 2012 shooting death.
Lil Reese commented on news of this revelation, simply writing, “Trippin.” He posted an article that shed more light on the issue.
Davis, 17, was with three friends inside a parked SUV outside a Jacksonville convenience store gas station when Dunn and fiancé Rhona Rouer parked alongside their vehicle.
Dunn complained the youths were playing their music too loudly and asked they turn it down.
An argument soon followed between both parties. Dunn alleged he saw a shotgun barrel from Davis’ car before he produced a handgun and sprayed nine bullets into the SUV, striking Davis three times, according to CNN.
No weapon was found in Davis’ vehicle upon investigation.
Dunn and his fiancé fled the crime scene and drove back to their hotel 40 miles south to St. Augustine, CNN reports. Dunn never notified authorities, but instead ordered pizza, took his dog for a walk, ordered a movie and poured a glass of rum and Coke.
Dunn was later arrested and charged with first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder. Dunn’s lawyers are using “Stand Your Ground” law as a defense.
If convicted Dunn faces life in prison without parole.
