More than 70% of students involved in school-related arrests or cases referred to law enforcement were Hispanic or African-American. A report that will be released Education Department Tuesday raises questions on the severity of treatment minorities receive when facing disciplinary action. Black students are more than three times as likely as their white peers to be suspended or expelled.

A former South Carolina and youth coach has been under investigation for five years on suspicion of child molestation, but no action was taken. Now, Louis “Skip” ReVille was indicted Tuesday on 22 counts of sexually molesting boys, including some at The Citadel military college summer camp.

A 15-year-old girl from Gallup, NM was subjected to public humiliation by Wingate Elementary school officials upon learning of her pregnancy. She was first kicked out of the school and later returned to have her pregnancy broadcasted in front of the entire student body by school officials in an assembly.
