Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club” host Charlamagne Tha God appeared in an interview with VladTV to comment on the signing of Chief Keef to Gucci Mane’s Bricksquad 1017 label.
Charlamagne wasn’t “surprised” about the union of the two artists because “both men create ratchet music.”
“I like Gucci Mane’s music and I like some Chief Keef’s music,” Charlamagne said. “That’s what definitely gets me pumped when I’m in the weight room.”
But Chief Keef, the “Guy Code” host said, “needs a mentor in his life right now.”
Gucci Mane is not the mentor for Chief Keef. That absolutely should scare people.
Charlamagne said there needs to be a “veto” in Hip Hop.
“Chief Keef should not be allowed to join 1017 Bricksquad,” he said. “That is just dangerous. That’s one menace of society teaming up with another menace to society. What’s that going to lead to? More menacing.”

Gucci Mane revealed to XXL Magazine he wanted to be a role model for the embattled Chicago rapper.
“He a big fan of mine and I just see a lot of potential in him. I feel like all these years I’ve been in the rap game, there’s a lot of things that I wish I could have did a different way,” Gucci explained. “So I just feel like if nothing else, I just want to give him some advice so that he can just enjoy his career. Just show him that trouble is so easy to get into. It’s really more of a big brother thing.
“There’s a business arrangement of course, but I just really like him as a person,” Gucci continued. “He hard. He for real. The young people take to what’s real, what they perceive as authentic.”
Chief Keef shocked fans after signing with Gucci’s imprint.
Gucci confirmed news of the signing, writing, “Chief Keef newest member of Bricksquad 1017 bmg gbe mpa #turnup.”
Chief Keef retweeteed Gucci’s tweet with the confirming phrase, “SQUAD.”
With his new business move, Chief Keef wrote, “Smh Ima Seventeen Year Old Legend!”
Chief Keef excitingly tweeted his affiliation his new team.
“#WhatTimeItIs?1017,” he wrote.
But Chief Keef’s news had many Twitter users perplexed.
Many fans took to Twitter to ask Chief Keef to clarify his affiliation.
Chief Keef wrote, “Lmao Gbe Is always Gbe I jus Fuck Wit Wop Hard So We Da Mufuckin Clique Clique Clique Clique 1017 Globoy.”
Twitter user @UncleBigMoody asked Chief Keef, “SO IS IT STILL GBE?!”
Chief Keef replied, “@UncleBigMoody Hell Yea Its Still gbe Boy.”
Another fan @KrismaticKage asked, “Chief Keef is on interscope or Bricksquad? #10thWorldWonder @ChiefKeef.”
Keef replied, “Interscope GloryBoyz Bricksquad “SQUAD””
