Ohio State University Police issued a hate-crime alert after someone spray-painted “Long Live Zimmerman” on the wall of the university Black Cultural Center, according the university’s student newspaper The Lantern. A second crime occurred off campus where a mural of President Barack Obama was vandalized with a racial slur.

The Obama Mural featured three swatiska symbols and the racial slur “Niggers!” The swastika was the symbol of the Nazi party in Germany during World War II.

The hate crime email alert issued by police read, “The Clergy Act defines a hate crime as a criminal offense committed against a person or property which is motivated in whole or part by the offender’s bias.”
