Zatiti Moody, the principal at Eastside High School in Newark, NJ, is in hot water for allowing Fetty Wap to film an authorized music video at the school, according to The Record.
The school board suspended Moody Wednesday for letting Fetty film his “Wake Up” music video on the school’s campus. District officials will now reportedly investigate whether policies were observed when permission was granted for the video to be shot after school hours inside the high school, according to The Record.
The board was upset with the Alan del Rio Ortiz-directed visual that contains images of young people smoking marijuana and even a stripper dancing inside a classroom.
Fetty Wap, born Willie Maxwell, was a former student at the school, but never finished.
Fetty Wap released a statement defending the shoot, writing, “I went back to my old high school because I love my city. I wanted to show the students of Paterson that someone who walked those same hallways they walk every day and sat in the same classrooms shown in the video has become successful. If I can do it they can do it too.”
