SD Explains Meaning Behind Debut Album ‘Truly Blessed’

SD is prepping the release of his debut album “Truly Blessed.” The project will be the GBE affiliate’s most personal project to date.

SD’s title for his project has special meaning. The “Reckless” rapper defined a blessing as identifying one’s progression in life and being thankful for the positives during his NightCap With Peter Bailey interview.

“…You gotta understand the difference between when you was here to now. Cause a lot of people be in predicaments where they suffering and they still suffering, but it’s just mentally,” he said. “I look at it like it’s a whole mental thing. But if you put yourself in a position to be blessed and thankful for what you got, you can be the happiest motherf*cker on earth. Just be blessed for what you got.”

According to SD, “Truly Blessed” is going to “wake motherf*ckers up.”

SD says fans will see his progression as an artist since his first mixtape “Life of a Savage.”

“I’m better at everything I do,” SD told Antenna. “I’ve just figured myself out and become smarter with everything I do.”

“There used to be a time where I didn’t listen to myself,” SD said. “I just didn’t like that sh-t. But then I became a fan. After ‘Life of a Savage 2,’ I became a fan. I look at my music career from a different perspective. I don’t look at it like this is something I’m doing. I look at it like it’s another motherfucker doing it. That’s why, where a lot of motherf*ckers go to the studio just because they feel like they have to record some shit, I don’t like to waste my time on that shit. If I don’t fuck with the shit, I don’t care if I’m in the studio for 12 hours, it won’t work.”

SD hopes his music will one day be regarded as classics.

“I make music that ain’t just for me to listen to or people where I come from to listen to,” he said. “I make music for the world to listen. I want people to go back in 20 years and still listen to my shit.”

SD gifted fans with the singles “Complaining” and “Loyalty.” SD’s album is slated to drop sometime this year.
