Shawty Lo Killed In Fiery Car Crash

Shawty Lo has died in a car crash, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution confirms. The “They Know” rapper, whose real name is Carlos Walker, died after he was ejected from his vehicle during a fiery single-car accident on I-285 in south Fulton County. He was 40 years old.

Shawty Lo’s brother and manager, Johnny Cabell, took his Twitter account to break the sad news.

“My brother has passed he is no longer here but his spirit, his kind heart, and his music will live on,” the post read. “Long live Shawty Lo King of Bankhead.”

“I am so so so devastated that words can not describe how I feel right now,” Cabell wrote in a statement. “Shawty Lo was not just my artist, he was my Brother. He was My Friend. I have been Lo MGR for over 10yrs. He was Loyal and he had my back when no one else did.”

“I could count on him when I had no one else to turn to,” Cabell continued. “We been thru so much together. If you knew Lo then you know he was genuine. He was Real he would do anything he could if he had it. I Genuinely love this man like my blood brother. I will keep his name alive and his music.”

Shawty Lo’s white Audi reportedly went over a guardrail, hit two trees and burst into flames. Two passengers in the vehicle were taken to a local hospital with injuries.

DJ Drama took to Twitter to send his condolences.

He wrote, “RIP Shawty Lo Prayers to his family and friends. ATown Legend.”

Shawty Lo is best known for his song “They Know.” He was a member of the rap group DFL with members Fabo, Mook-B and Stoney. The recorded the hit song “Betcha Can’t Do It Like Me.”
