Spike Lee is continuing to defend his controversial film “Chi-Raq” despite what critics have to say. Lee made an appearance last Wednesday at Northwestern University in Evanston to answer questions about his film.
He also slammed his most vocal critics, including Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Rhymefest, King Louie and Chance The Rapper.
Lee referred to Chance as a “fraud,” calling the “Acid Rap” artist’s critiques a “punk ass move,” according to DNAInfo.com.
Lee said Chance’s father Ken Bennett was named deputy chief of staff and director of the Mayor’s Office of Public Engagement in 2014.
“He [Chance] was on the mayor’s payroll just like his father,” he said.
Lee also weighed in on a song released by King Louie called “F**k Spike Lee.” Lee joked he wasn’t responsible for Louie’s near fatal shooting in late December.
“I didn’t do it!” he said.
Chance The Rapper proclaimed in a heated Twitter rant that he was not in support of “Chi-Raq.”
