A 17-year-old boy is in the hospital after he was shot in the head Thursday during a game of the “No Lackin Challenge,” WBRC reports.
Sherman Lackland, 21, was sitting in a booth at E’s cafe’s with the victim and another acquaintance when he accidentally discharged his weapon.
Café patron Thomas Fitzpatrick witnessed the shooting.
“He started grabbing him and telling him to get up and then he was kind of mad and was swinging stools and stuff,” Fitzpatrick said.
The victim was taken to the hospital where he is now listed in critical condition.
Lackland was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of a weapon.
