Police have named an original “person of interest” a suspect in the murder of rapper BTY YoungN, The New Orleans Advocate reports.

Kyron Williams, 27, is reportedly wanted on one count of second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of YoungN.

YoungN, born Desmone Jerome, 27, was fatally shot in the early hours of Sunday, April 30 at a Shell gas station in Lil Wayne’s Hollygrove neighborhood.

Darryl “Dino” Bannister Jr. was named the first suspect in YoungN’s murder when he was arrested Sunday, April 30.

Bannister, 31, was booked on one count of second-degree murder in the fatal shooting. He is being held on $350,000 bail.

Police were able to identify Bannister as their suspect because he allegedly left his cell phone at the crime scene, NOLA.com reports. Bannister turned himself into authorities at New Orleans police headquarters, The Advocate reports.

Bannister was allegedly one of two gunmen shown in gas station video surveillance opening fire on YoungN. Footage showed the phone was dropped during the shooting.

Bannister maintains his cell phone was stolen at a party earlier that day.

BTY YoungN was signed to Birdman’s Rich Gang/Cash Money Records, the Advocate reports.

Birdman took to IG to remember YoungN following his death.

He posted a photo of YoungN in the studio while flexing with a guitar.

Birdman’s caption read, “#RIP @bty_youngn #BTY #gonebutnevaforgotten.”

YoungN revealed in past interviews he had already been shot five times. He was also once charged with second-degree murder, NOLA.com reports.

YoungN began making a name for himself for his eccentric lifestyle. He notably caught social media’s attention in December 2016 when he walked into an Audi dealership with a drawstring backpack full of cash.

Glenn Bell, YoungN’s cousin, was present at the crime scene. Bell told NOLA.com it’s not the end of BTY YoungN’s rapper career.

“Rap is his career, not was,” Bell told Nola.com. “He’s going to live on.”

YoungN has a large catalog of music online. He has released numerous singles, including “Materialistic,” “Far From Over,” “It’s Whatever,” “When I Was” and more.
